The BPWA Walk Committee Needs You!
Do you enjoy BPWA's guided walks? Have you considered leading one but aren't sure what's involved? Or do you have a great idea for a walk but don't want to lead it? Do you know someone who might lead a walk or who might contribute expertise? Could you help us rewrite the online descriptions of walk routes so they are more uniform?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then please come to a meeting of our new BPWA Path Committee, on Tuesday, January 11, at 7:30, in the back room of Au Coquelet at Milvia and University. You will meet our walk program chair Keith Skinner and some veteran walk leaders, who will explain how they formulate a theme, map a route, provide points of interest, and pace a group. We will also brainstorm walk ideas and possible leaders and discuss how best to publicize our walks. We would love to have you contribute to our walk program! If you would like to attend or have questions, please contact Keith by e-mail or phone 510 520-3876).
Help needed
to build and restore paths.
Charlie Bowen is looking for people to build paths.
Feel the rewards by what a group can accomplish in
under 2 hours; the before and after are
incredible! We always have refreshments, we finish
on time and it feels wonderful to use your muscles
to do a bit of community service. Contact Charlie to
participate or get more information - 510-540-7223,
or send an e-mail to charlie_paths@comcast.net.
Also Needed:Writers,
artists, and pamphleteers to
- post & distribute
flyers, forge links between community
organizations, and
- attract more volunteers
(picture Tom Sawyer and his fence
in need of painting)
Help publicize BPWA and strengthen our
connections to other community groups so
that we can better maintain and enhance
Berkeley's treasured paths and enable more
people to enjoy them.
