The are approximately 140 paths owned
by the City of Berkeley, most of them
in good condition with minimal difficulties
for the walker. We have compiled a full
list
of paths giving the top and bottom
street for each.
A number of pathways
are, at this time, unimproved, and
are shown on the BPWA map as dotted
lines. There are two listings of the
unbuilt paths -- the first of these is
ordered by the addresses
of streets where unimproved paths
begin and end. This is useful if you
want to find paths that lead from a particular
street. The other has a list of paths
with street addresses that is arranged
by the name of the path. This help
you to find a particular unimproved path.
A major goal of BPWA is to
improve paths which have not yet been
built. Please see the special section
on Path
Building and the date of our Next
Work Party.
The photographs
of the paths are
organized by area of the City,

We have a collection of handouts
and background information from
some of our earlier walks that
may be useful in planning one's
own walk. Please see our section
on
Self-Guided Walks.
Also, please take a look at the Path
stories that have been collected
over the years.
